To the citizens of Sarasota county:
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is ready for new leadership that is responsive, cooperative and accountable. I am the person most qualified to provide it.
I served the State of Florida for more than 20 years in progressively responsible law enforcement positions. I have benefited from some of the finest police leadership training available and gained a lifetime of hands-on experience in public safety and stewardship. Now, I’m ready to use my broad perspective and knowledge to benefit the citizens of Sarasota County—the place I proudly call home.
As the Sheriff of Sarasota County, I will uphold the highest standards of integrity. I will find effective and innovative ways to fight crime, and will use taxpayer dollars in a conservative and responsible way. I will inspire my colleagues. Most importantly, I will serve the office with character and integrity.
I’m counting on your vote August 26.
As Sheriff of Sarasota County, Fmr. Major Tom Knight will:
- Bring FISCAL SANITY to the Sheriff’s Office budget and budgeting process without compromising public safety
- WORK COOPERATIVELY with local government and other law enforcement agencies
- Take proactive measures to keep ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION from becoming a bigger problem in our community
- PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE with forward-thinking management
- PROVIDE FAIR AND IMPARTIAL LEADERSHIP for improved morale and service to the public
